Michael Timm Photography Promotion/Wedding Invitation
Some might see the constraints of a small budget as limiting. We see them as an opportunity to flex some of our creativity.
Talented photographer Michael Timm wanted a personal, original wedding invitation. He also thought the invite might be a fine way to show off his gorgeous photography—but he didn’t have a lot of money. Enter Project 13.
We designed a hand-crafted invitation/promotional mailer, in English and Swedish, with interleaved one-color text pages printed on French-fold uncoated stock, and four-color postcards printed on matte coated sheets. Each postcard page was perforated for easy mailing, and featured an image photographed from the wedding site by the groom-to-be. To keep expenses to a minimum, the four-color process was printed digitally on a Heidelberg press, while the one-color printing was done by a local offset printer, and the Project 13 staff pitched in to hand-bind all 150 invitations.
How thrilled were the newlyweds with the result? Michael and his wife promised to name their first child after us. We think they were just kidding—but Project 13 Timm does have kind of a nice ring to it …
