In this gritty, based-on-a-true-story epic, Gumby reunites with The Clayboys to perform at a concert benefiting local farmers whose farms are threatened by the Blockheads’ E-Z Loan company. But things take an unexpected turn when the Blockheads find out that Gumby's dog, Lowbelly, cries pearls when he sees the Clayboys perform, and decide to dognap Lowbelly and force him to cry pearls. When that doesn’t work, they kidnap the band and replace them with robot clones!

Project 13 helped bring this cinematic phenomenon to DVD for the first time with a package design that features a guitar-wielding Gumby on the cover, flanked by his pal Pokey and his archenemies, the Blockheads. In an homage to Almost Famous, the back and interior are packed with photos from the benefit concert and ticket stubs from the show. And because everyone loves to bend the bendable green fellow themselves, the DVD includes a 3-inch bendable Gumby, which called for its own neat design feat, a special die-cut in the cover that allowed the toy to show through.
