The Best of Go-Go Gophers DVD packaging

Project 13 designs DVD packaging for a Classic gopher tale.

It is a tale as old as the Old West: military officers lay claim to a plot of land, and the natives who’ve inhabited that land for generations struggle to hold onto their home. Only in this story, the military officers are coyotes—specifically, Colonel Kit Coyote, and his loyal assistant, Sergeant Okey Homa—and the natives are gophers in feathered headdresses, the mumbling Ruffled Feathers, and his interpreter, Running Board.

When Classic Media and Sony Wonder partnered to bring the adventures of Gopher Gulch into the DVD era, they called on Project 13 to design the packaging. We gave an updated look to the classic 1966 cartoon, developing all new character art, which was illustrated by Patrick Owsley. Conveying the gags and pranks from the ongoing battle between the Go-Go Gophers and their military nemeses in the package design, we developed a fun, bright slipcase, and artwork for the disc itself that perfectly captures the cartoon’s irreverent goofiness.
