Palmer’s Restaurant

Brand and Web Development

November 15, 2012

Palmer’s Restaurant is a quirky juxtaposition of funhouse cafe, bar and diner owned by New York based, Hecho Inc. Conceived as a kitschy David Lynch-style amalgamation of traditional American diner, historic hotel lobby café and old-school watering hole, Palmer’s is located in The Avalon Tower, a new luxury high-rise located in Fort Green.

The eatery was meticulously constructed to feel as though it has been part of the neighborhood landscape for several decades, and features many of the playful and interesting “props” that Hecho is known for – including a vintage organ, large-scale backlit bingo board and pre-WWII telephone booth.

Project 13 used this unusual aesthetic blend to create an iconic identity and branding system that extends gracefully across multiple mediums – from menus and exterior signage to collateral and web. The result helped instantly establish Palmer’s as a true neighborhood classic and a uniquely different option in the ever-expanding Brooklyn culinary scene.
